Property Taxes

Reminder to all Hardwick property owners, taxes are due Friday May 10th.

Town Clerk Office Hours are Monday – Thursday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm and Friday 7:30 am – 11:30 am

May 10th the Town Clerk’s office will be open 7:30 am – 6:00 pm. Please note from 11:30 am – 6:00 pm will be for tax collecting only. We will not be able to offer other services during that time. Thank you for your understanding.

If you would like to confirm your taxes have been paid or find out your balance prior to May 10th, please email tonia.chase@hardwickvt.gov

We also strongly recommend if you purchased or refinanced your home within the last year and your taxes are escrowed you email tonia.chase@hardwickvt.gov to confirm we have received all payments from escrow company.


Request for Proposal (RFP) for NRCS Emergency Watershed Protection Program: Third-Party Engineering Services for the Town of Hardwick

The Town of Hardwick, VT, in collaboration with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), is seeking proposals from qualified engineering firms to provide third-party engineering services for three projects on privately owned property under the Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) program. The selected firm will assist in the assessment, design, and implementation of erosion control and flood mitigation measures in three designated watershed areas affected by the July 2023 flooding.

Hydrant Flushing Week of April 22-26, 2024

The Town of Hardwick Public Works Department will be conducting hydrant flushing during the week of April 22-26. Flushing will begin at North Main Street. All hydrants in the Village will be flushed. If you experience dirty water, please let your faucets run until the water clears. If you have any concerns, please contact the Town Manager’s office at 472-6120.


Green Up 2024

With Green Up being tomorrow, Saturday, May 4, 2024, the Town of Hardwick would like to remind you of a few key items:

– If you come across needles, please dispose of them properly

– If you come across remaining human-debris on the banks of the Lamoille River caused by the flood in July 2023, please photo-document it and send it to David Upson, Town Manager at david.upson@hardwickvt.gov. Documentation will be sent to the Vermont Emergency Management for future clean-up.

– The two dumpsters will be located at the Town Garage, which is located on Creamery Road

– If you need any assistance, please reach out to the Recreation Committee. There will be a representative at all times on Creamery Road

LVRT- East Hardwick Trail Closure 4/11 and 4/12

A message from the Rail Trails Program Manager of the Vermont Agency of Transportation:

“Apologies for the very short notice, but we will be closing the LVRT- East Hardwick tomorrow (4/11) and Friday (4/12). CCS will be completing site prep work ahead of trail restoration. We’ll be closing the LVRT in East Hardwick from BR38 (MP32.75) to Pumpkin Lane (MP32) this Thursday and Friday. It will be reopened this Saturday.”
